So what have you been up to for the last six months of the pandemic? For my family, we decided to buy a business, Signarama Lilbun, in the midst of all this uncertainty. Call us crazy, I know. We closed on the paperwork to buy a franchise of Signarama the week the coronavirus shut everything down. Our road was paved and there was no backing down. The original plan was to close on the business after a 2-week training in West Palm Beach the last two weeks of April, but as you can imagine, that training got postponed due to the kids staying home and needing constant supervision to stay on their digital learning. The courts also were shut down and were not issuing doing business as, which was a requirement of starting our franchise. Hmmmm.....so it became a waiting game. The closing date got pushed to mid-June. We didn't even know if summer camp would be allowed so my husband and I could do the training together virtually. Thankfully, summer camp started the same day as our training.
It was a scary day on June 15th when we officially closed on our Signarama Lilburn business. However, it's been good. My husband has 9-years of sign experience, so it seemed the next step in his career to be an owner. I've had to learn as I go and I like to think I'm getting better.
