The Complex Sports and Entertainment Open in Buford Plus a Giveaway

By Rachel Horlacher, Publisher of Lawrenceville-Buford-Winder Macaroni Kid July 30, 2020

Last weekend, my family and I had the oppurtunity to play at The Complex Sports and Entertainment. The Complex is located in the old HH&Gregg Building across from the Target at the Mall of Georgia. Going in, we didn't know what to expect. Upon entering, you purchase a certian amount of credits onto a wristband which you exchange for games and activities.

Armband amounts:

  • $10 (40 points)
  • $15 (60 points)
  • $20 (80 points)
  • $30 (120 points)
  • $40 (160 points)

There is no mask requiement, however, if you wear a mask they were having a promtion to get extra points on your wristband. My adventorous child immediately chose the ropes course (20 points).

My oldest who isn't as adventorous as my middle child tried the rock wall, where you had several different types of walls to choose from to climb (20 points). There were logs, a soccer ball wall, plus more traditional rock walls.

My youngest went to the trampoline area where you play a game of trying to get the objects that are falling from the sky while jumping around the trampoline area. (12 points) My youngest also enjoyed the toddler play area where we paid 15 points to get in, but everyone in the family was allowed in the whole time we were there.

The concept of this venue is virtual sports. You have physical items that you manipulate with on screen prompts. My family's favorites were badmitton, tennis, and baseball.

You can practice a few of them without the interaction of the game to go with it, like soccer, archery, tennis and pitching. Overall, my family spent around 2 hours there and each kid had $10 worth on their armbands. We went shortly after they opened on a Satuday and there was only one other family there, so perfect for social distancing, and the employees were sanitizing each station after we left them. Overall, my family had a blast and if you're looking for a way for the kids to burn off some energy, this is perfect.
