T. Robert’s is coming to Buford, Georgia with his patented mix of magic and variety that is guaranteed to be the “cure for common entertainment.”
Magician and Illusionist Thomas Roberts began performing magic at the age of 7. His unique interests in vintage transportation (he has traveled across the United States and Canada by train and to date has ridden behind over 100 restored steam locomotives), and the history of magic and variety entertainment has led him to creating this one of a kind, vintage themed, traveling magic show.
The show was designed to play classic theaters as a call-back to vaudeville stage shows of the past. “It’s not a re-enactment or a museum piece,” says Thomas, “I’m very much aware it’s the year 2020 and so I have several new twists on the classics of magic as well as some brand new stage illusions that you simply have to see to not believe!”
In addition to sleight of hand classics like the linking rings and dancing handkerchief, highlights of the show include his appearance in a traveling magic elevator, sawing a man in half, escaping from the solid steel bars of a jail cell window, cutting and zig-zagging his arm into 3 separate pieces, and an experiment in levitation.
“I can’t wait to perform at the Sylvia Beard Theatre, it’s a beautiful space that will complement the style of my show perfectly. I love theaters that have a large stage allowing me to present grand illusions, but yet still offer an intimate setting for the audience.”
As a producer, Thomas created the Colorful Hat Theatrical Circus in 2007, and multiple Cirque Motion productions including the touring show AWAKEN. Additionally, his lighting design has been seen in national touring shows and theme parks for the past 15 years.
T. Robert’s Magic & Variety Show is an 80 minute, family-friendly magic and variety show performing at the Sylvia Beard Theatre in Buford Georgia on March 17 & 18, 2020. Performances are at 5:30 and 8:00 PM each night and tickets start at $25 and may be purchased at www.TRobertsMagic.com
