Christmas Tree Recycling

The presents have been opened, dinners eaten and families bonded. Merry Christmas to all. Now what to do with your live tree? 

There are several places in Gwinnett County to take your tree to be recycled. Not to fear if you live in Barrow county, they offer free recycling as well. 

Gwinnett County Locations and Details:

  • Collection from December 26th to January 20th
  • Will be converted to mulch to beautify the parks
  • Must be free of lights, ornaments, frosting, tree stands, etc.

Barrow County Details:

  • Bring your Christmas trees to be chipped and receive free seeds and a free tree seedling - while supplies last. We will be between fields 8-11 (near the Armory and Senior Center), just off of Lee Street.

  • Hand Me Down Zoo
    • It’s that time of year again. As Christmas wraps up and decorations get put away remember your real Christmas trees can come here. The animals here love to eat and play with the trees. If you have a real tree that wasn’t flocked with fake snow or tree perfumes please set up a time to bring them here. 706-429-4591.
