Last month my husband and I had the privilege of going on a rare date night. We chose to try our hand at another mystery room. Paranoia Quest is located at the Mall of Georgia. You park by the food court entrance where the fountains are. You go to the fountains and take a right, not actually entering the mall. Upon arriving, we were in a time crunch, so we told them to add us to whichever one was available the first. We were placed in the Alice and Wonderland room with another couple. This was our first time doing a mystery room with another couple we did not know, but it was pleasant and not awkward.
Before we went into the room, the facilitator left and came back in character of the Mad Hatter. He explained the scenario, our objective, and some rules. He did a good job of getting into character of the Mad Hatter. Apparently, the white rabbit is kidnapped and the clock of Wonderland has stopped, so your mission is two-fold, find the rabbit and then restart the clock so Wonderland doesn't disappear. Upon entering the room, you're immediately immersed in the atmosphere and it feels like you're in Alice in Wonderland. You are given a phone where you can call for clues and a monitor that shows clues and your time left is also in the room to help you out. Once we solved all the clues in the first room, a door pops open and we went to another room, which was just as immersive as the first room with all the scenery and scenarios of clues. We did escape in time, saved the rabbit and restarted the clock. My one warning is that to escape that room, you had to crawl on your hands and knees out a small door to leave.
The puzzles throughout the game are varied and interactive, there are still some combination locks, but there are much more varied puzzles and ways to open things. I appreciated that, as just doing locks seems to get monotonous. Overall, I would whole-heartedly recommend doing this on your next date night. Very well done, and I applaud Paranoia Quest for making an amazing Escape Room experience.
