Summer is on it's way in, but it's not quite time for pool's and lakes. As Lanier Islands prepares for the summer months, here is a list of events that will take place nearly every day of the week (via Lake Lanier):
Masterpiece Mondays:
Led by the talented team of artists from Masterpiece Mixers, guests of Sunset Cove Beach Café & Club can tap into their inner Picasso and create a work of art while sipping a cocktail and taking in the view. This activity is especially fun when shared by groups of friends and offers step-by-step painting instruction for artists of every skill level.
Volleyball Tuesdays:
The Islands welcomes Recreational, Intermediate, and Advanced level volleyball players to snag a spot on the sand for some sweet pickup games that are as fun to watch as they are to play.
Wine Wednesdays:
New to the Cove this year, Wine Wednesdays feature delicious wine-and-food pairings that are artfully selected to showcase the flavor and complexity of each wine. After the meal, guests are welcome to enjoy another glass of wine by the glow of one of the Cove’s massive fire pits, while enjoying the serene sound of waves lapping against the shoreline.
Throwback Thursdays:
Also new to the Cove for 2016, Throwback Thursdays feature a beloved movie classic – such as Grease, the original Ghostbusters, Field of Dreams and more – displayed on the Islands’ answer to the drive-in movie theaters of old: the brand new 50’ x 80’ high definition Spectacular Screen. Talk about a great date night –dinner AND a movie under a sea of stars!
Low Country Boil Fridays:
Lanier Islands’ culinary team brings a Southern classic to the shores of Lake Lanier every Friday with massive amounts of shrimp, sausage, red potatoes and corn on the cob – offering a great way to spice up an ordinary Friday night. In addition to regularly scheduled weekday events, Sunset Cove boasts live music most weekends – as well as the occasional Full Moon Party, which feature food and drink specials, street performers like jugglers and fire breathers, glow in the dark gear and live music.
Upcoming Full Moon Parties at Sunset Cove are scheduled for May 21, June 18, July 23, August 20, September 17 and October 15 from 7 to 11 p.m. While the waterslides and attractions at LanierWorld are not scheduled to open until May 21, old and soon-to-be new fans of Sunset Cove are welcome to come out any day of the week for lunch or dinner.
