HIGH Museum of Art Celebrates Thanksgiving Weekend

 The High invites Atlantans and their out-of-town guests to enjoy a full weekend of activities for all ages at the Museum after the Thanksgiving holiday (Nov. 25–27, 2016). Each day will feature special programming from 1 to 4 p.m., including art making and story times. Guests may also enjoy evening festivities on Friday, Nov. 25, and the annual Holidays at the High Artisans Market.

 “The High is the perfect place for post-Thanksgiving fun with friends and family,” said Virginia Shearer, Eleanor McDonald Storza director of education at the High. “Our events and activities appeal to kids and adults alike, so there is truly something for everyone to enjoy!”


The schedule of events for Thanksgiving weekend includes:

 Day after Thanksgiving: Friday, Nov. 25

 Museum open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Admission prices: $14.50 for ages 6 and above; FREE for ages 5 and under

1 to 4 p.m.
Get in the spirit of the season with art projects, story times in English and Spanish, and a family photobooth. We’ll also relax in the afternoon with yoga inspired by Eric Carle’s children’s book “From Head to Toe.”


5 to 8 p.m.
Crank up the festivities on Friday evening with live music, art making inspired by the work of celebrated Georgia self-taught artist Howard Finster, and drinks for purchase.

 Saturday, Nov. 26, and Sunday, Nov. 27

The Museum is open Saturday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 27, from noon to 5 p.m.; Admission prices: $14.50 for ages 6 and above; FREE for ages 5 and under

 1 to 4 p.m.

Keep the holiday spirit all weekend! Bring the whole family for art making and storytime fun inspired by our permanent collection. On Sunday, Nov. 27, you may also enjoy a performance by the Atlanta Ballet Centre Youth Ensemble in the Hill Auditorium and food trucks on the Carroll Slater Sifly Piazza.

 Holidays at the High Artisans Market

 Friday, Nov. 25: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 26: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 27: Noon to 4 p.m.

 Meet local artists and shop for handmade gifts including jewelry, textiles, home goods, accessories and more. A full list of vendors is available online.
