5 Reasons You Should Take the Kids to Fright Fest

Ends October 30th!

By Stacey Stegg October 27, 2016

I love Halloween. everything about it. The candy, the dressing up, scaring each other, the candy and the candy. We are BIG on dressing up, love gory scary things and are avid The Walking Dead fans. So to attend Fright Fest is a check in our books. We couldn't experience the haunted house and scare zones, for that I am disappointed I didn't stay later for it, but we will for sure next year! But just because you don't explore the awesomeness that Six Flags over Georgia has to offer for Fright Fest, doesn't mean you can't have some good old Halloween fun with the amazing decorations and the dead that they hire. Maybe you have little one's who are not quite ready for the scare zones, I get it, but trust me, you'll want to go with another adult or older child if you can, they look so awesome!! But if not, here are 5 reasons you should go with the kids to Fright Fest at Six Flags over Georgia.

1) You can celebrate with your favorite Looney Toon Characters, dress up and take part in a contest! Get candy and create a craft! Yes, it is called Fright Fest, but it is very kid friendly during the day. My son decided he wanted to ride all the rides with the longest lines, so we didn't get to enjoy these activities, but hey, riding coaster is always a good time!

2) Mazes. We seen a couple of non-scary mazes along the way. Went in one completely covered in black and white striped fabric, I thought we were going to get stuck in there, and it was daylight! I'm sure it is so awesome at night!

3) Not into all the scary fun of Halloween, no prob! Although the park is decked out, there are some areas that are left untouched. DC Super Friends is one of them! So if you all are not into Halloween for whatever reason, know that this area is a "safe zone" for you and the family. Now, with only a few rides, you can spend quite some time here. Most kids will want to ride a few times, and if you can bare to see Bugs Bunny dressed as a vampire, then you can release those 7-11 slushies directly next to DC Super Friends in Looney Tune Adventure Camp.

4) See the dead. If you are in the park around 6 PM, you'll start to see some ghostly friends near the entrance.  Although they don't look like the once did, you know, back before the crocked, they are completely harmless and are just for looks. They don't speak and at the most will walk up to you. Fun to take photos of or by, they are totally photo friendly.

5) Speaking of photos, there are TONS of places where you can snap some great shots! I would recommend bringing the kids dressed up (nothing scary though), and taking some great Halloween photos!

To experience Fright Fest during the day, it is just the regular daily admission. I would HIGHLY recommend getting season passes! You'll use them at least several times during the year and you'll totally get your money's worth! If you want to experience the frighteningly fearful fest, then you'll have to come out-of-pocket for some of the maze (around $20), but you're getting several different "haunted houses" for that price, plus rides! It's so worth it!
