Spend Labor Day at Lanier Islands!

 For Southerners who believe a three-day-weekend is not quite long enough,
they’ll be happy to learn that Georgia’s Lanier Islands has a massive four-day weekend in the works to commemorate Labor Day 2016. With the summer season winding down to a close, the lakeside resort is revving its engines for a music in the air, dogs on the grill, toes in the sand, fun in the sun kind of experience –blended with a sneak peek at something entirely new. LanierWorld – the Islands’ beach, boardwalk, and waterpark entertainment district – is Labor Day Weekend Central thanks to its great lakeside destination and the following jam-packed calendar of events:
Friday, September 2:
-LanierWorld – with more than a dozen rides, slides, and attractions – is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
•DJ will be spinning tunes that are ideal for dancing in the sand from 3 to 6 p.m.
•Active duty military members, police officers and firefighters admitted to LanierWorld free of charge*
Saturday, September 3:
•LanierWorld – with more than a dozen rides, slides, and attractions – is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
•A family-friendly feature film on the Spectacular Screen high above Big Beach from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
•DJ will be spinning tunes that are ideal for dancing in the sand from 3 to 6 p.m.
•Block Party Band takes the Sunset Cove stage from 7 to 11 p.m.
•SNEAK PEEK at Game Day Lanier on the 5-story tall, high definition Spectacular Screen – a new addition to the lineup at Lanier Islands for an entirely novel experience that pairs game watching with tailgating on the sand. In addition to drink specials and fan-favorite game day fare hot off the grill, the day’s programming includes:
-Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game – UGA Bulldogs vs. UNC Tarheels – Kickoff at 5:30 p.m.
-Auburn Tigers vs. Clemson Tigers – Kickoff at 9 p.m.
•Active duty military members, police officers and firefighters admitted to LanierWorld free of charge
Sunday, September 4:
•LanierWorld – with more than a dozen rides, slides, and attractions – is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
•A family-friendly feature film on the Spectacular Screen high above Big Beach from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
•DJ will be spinning tunes that are ideal for dancing in the sand from 1 to 4 p.m.
•Tiger Creek Band takes the Sunset Cove stage from 5 to 9 p.m.
•A second SNEAK PEEK at Game Day Lanier – an entirely novel experience that pairs game watching with tailgating on the sand. In addition to drink specials and fan-favorite game day fare hot off the grill, the day’s programming includes:
-The Notre Dame Fighting Irish take on the Texas Longhorns at 7:30 p.m.
-Fireworks over the lake during halftime

Monday, September 5:
•LanierWorld – with more than a dozen rides, slides, and attractions – is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

•DJ will be spinning tunes that are ideal for dancing in the sand from 3 to 6 p.m.

While most of the weekend’s festivities can be found at LanierWorld, there’s even MORE fun to be found at the award-winning Legacy Lodge for those guests who opt to turn their day at the lake into a stay at the lake.
